I am committed to providing unwavering emotional support throughout your pregnancy, labor and postpartum period. My expertise helps navigate the physical and emotional challenges, offering a reassuring presence during every step of the journey.

Advocacy and Communication 

I am an ardent advocate for your birthing decisions. It is vital to me that you are being respected, seen and heard. I bridge the gap between you and the healthcare team, fostering a collaborative and respectful environment.

Reducing Stress and Anxiety 

The calming presence of a doula has been shown to reduce anxiety and stress levels during labor. By offering reassurance,comfort, and coping techniques I contribute to a more relaxed birthing environment, positively influenced in the overall experience.

Partner Involvement 

I do not replace your partner but work alongside them, involving them in the birthing process and providing guidance on how best to support the laboring person. While offering them support along every step of the way.

Informational Support

I provide up to date evidence based information ensuring that you have access to the best possible information about what’s happening in your body.

What’s included in my birth doula services?

  • 2-3 prenatal visits, helping you prepare for birth and find comfort in pregnancy
  • Unlimited emotional support throughout the pregnancy via text,email and phone calls
  • On call 24/7 starting at 37 weeks
  • Phone support in early labor
  • Hands on support throughout your birth and the initial 2-4 hours postpartum
  • 1-2 in-home postpartum visit
  • One month of phone and email postpartum support

The postpartum period can be an emotionally challenging time. I provide emotional support, creating a calm and nurturing space for you to express your thoughts and feelings. This support is vital in promoting a positive emotional well-being for all the family.

Newborn Care Guidance and Feeding Support

By offering hands-on assistance from breastfeeding support to diaper techniques, I ensure you feel confident and empowered in caring for your newborn. Providing gentle support with soothing sleep and adjusting to your baby’s rhythms.

Guidance in New Parenthood

Welcoming a newborn comes with a multitude of changes. I will help guide you through the early days after birth and into the first few months, offering advice on newborn care, feeding, and establishing routines.

Rest and Recovery

It’s vital that parents prioritize nourishing themselves during this transformative time. I encourage and facilitate self care routines, helping you find moments of relaxation and rest amidst the demands of parenting. Supporting partners and family members as they adjust to new family dynamics.

Household Support

During the postpartum period focus should be on your family. I can assist with light household chores allowing you time to establish a relationship and bond with your baby without the added stress of daily tasks.

What’s included in my postpartum doula services?

  • One prenatal visit to discuss your goals and make a plan for support
  • You will call me when baby’s born and you’re ready for me to come
  • Phone, text, and email support from moment of hire
  • Personalized in home visits (3-5 hour blocks) tailored to your needs
  • I will use my knowledge as a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor to help troubleshoot lactation concerns and provide encouragement for all that is going right 
  • Light housework such as dishes, feeding the pets, laundry, etc.
  • Light meal prep
  • I will help you with postpartum healing including massage, rest, listening and validating
  • I will assist/support and help you become familiar with baby wearing, equipment, newborn care, and more

Guidance and Expertise

I bring specialized knowledge and expertise in lactation. From lactating techniques to addressing common breastfeeding challenges. My guidance ensures you feel confident and supported as you navigate feeding and bonding with your baby.

Emotional Support

I recognize the emotional journey of new parenthood. I provide a calm and compassionate space for you to express your feelings ensuring you feel supported and understood. Providing continuous encouragement, helping you build confidence in your ability to nourish your baby through breastfeeding.

Education and Assistance 

I help enhance your breastfeeding knowledge with hands-on education. Learn about different breastfeeding positions, effective suckling techniques, and how to optimize the experience for both you and baby. I can help you and baby establish a comfortable and effective latch that promotes successful breastfeeding.

Troubleshooting 

A lactation counselor is adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues, offering practical solutions and emotional support to overcome any struggles. I will refer you to an IBCLC if your issues are out of my scope.
